IMO speed isn't everything. To compare 159 with Series 3 or A4, they all present similar numbers. Above that hater or not, 159 is beautiful, way nicer then Series 3, A4 or any other car in that segment and in that budget. In all honesty, those are 15y. old cars. No matter is it Alfa, BMW, Audi or Mercedes. Such old cars are not meant to be driven on their V. MAX. If you want to easily do 250 or even 300kph buy a brand new car with over 300 HP. Really, no one even drives that fast on an everyday routine. So as I said if you seeking for extraordinary cars, I recommend you to purchase idk maybe New Type-R or Focus RS or even new AR. Unless, you are rich then go for the newer BMW, etc. I prefer to drive a little bit slower, but beautiful AR 1159 than mundane Series 3, A4 or even W211 for that matter. Peace!

Alfa ditching the Busso for this was the worst thing they could have done. Italians rarely get it right, this car was gorgeous and still looks awesome, but fuckk its slow unless it's a madly tuned 2.4 JTD.

So slow for an 3.2 V6....

The speedo is on point if this were a vw car it would have read atleast 245

I owned a 159 3.2 (sedan version) for years. After around 180'000 km the first motor blew up (literally, parts were flying out the exhaust...), destroying also the transmission and exhaust system. After installing a completely new motor - from a crash car, which had around 120'000 km on the watch - the car ran until an overall total of 328'000 km. At this point the bearing shells broke, causing major damage to the system, and I subsequently disposed the car. Apart from the two major failures, it until then had needed only minor repairs and didn't have a lot of issues ;) To me it's still a special car with a certain attraction and a specific aura surrounding it, creating a great, unfiltered and direct "drivers feeling". However the holden engine was lacking in quality and unfortunately never reached the factory specs. Instead a Busso engine would for sure have been a legendary fit for the car.

In an alfist forum we used to call the brera/spider/159 with 3.2 engine orcas, platform from bigger segment, awd, 3.2 GM engine what else can go wrong.

it's slow..but almost no one consider that 221/222 on tacho are the same on gps...in a modern car you will read at least 235 XD

something is wrong with this car ... my 2.4 jtdm accelerates much better and reaches 240 km / h without any problems ... and here from 200 km / h the car does not want to go...

Definitely something not OK with this car. It has the top speed of my 159 1.9jtdm Qtronic(auto transmission) on dashboard. Just get 1.9jtdm or 2.4jtdm for driving at these speeds and you will have much better fuel economy
